12/21

Small new place I found this weekend while geocaching - hotel ruins in Sea Girt.

It's also my 1 year geocaching anniversary - not too bad for one year I think.

Well it's done. I went through all the older pages and put any pictures behind links on the actual pages. There should be no pictures behind links anymore. If there are, that means I missed them and fail at life. I also updated information on several of these pages, since some didn't have all that much to begin with.

This isn't new to the site, but I gave the Bayville Dinosaur its own page and added new photos.

Finally started going back to the older pages on the site and redoing the ones that have pictures behind links. Any new information on them will be added in as well. I may retype a few, since some are pretty embarrassing.
With any luck I'll finish.

3 new places up: the Mount Holly Altar, and 2 places from NY: Nike Base at Blauvelt and Tweed.

We went out on Tuesday and took new pictures of a place I hadn't been to in over 3 years - Pickerel. Liz found out the place used to be called Wild West City and was sort of a theme park a few decades back. You wouldn't be able to tell now; hardly anything is left. We don't know yet if it had any connection with the Wild West City that is in northern NJ.

I've found the last of my two "obsessions" - a few weeks back it was the Hollow Field Cemetery, and now it's the cemetery at Union Clay Works. So now that I have no super secret places to obsess over, I'm sort of depressed.

I finished one of the things I've been meaning to do with the site for a while - each page now has the date it was posted, and any place that to my knowledge has been demolished or in some other way destroyed has that indicated as well.
My next project, which will be very time consuming, is to go back to all the older pages on the site and fix the ones where half the photos are behind links. It's something I should have done years ago, but I'm just lazy. Such is life.

Quick recap of the past week, for those not in the know:
Our host had some sort of server crash on Sunday, resulting in the loss of some of the more recent photos and the corruption of the forum. We were lucky and had a backup of the board from 9/22, and we uploaded that. Something happened and we lost the board a SECOND time. The host has taken care of it, and while we're about 150 posts behind what we originally were, it's sure better than the host's forum backup from May.

Found a place I've been after for years - Hollow Field Cemetery, aka "The Pet Cemetery".

10/10

Our New England trip was cut in half due to rain, but we did manage to visit a few places.

New are Hope Cemetery and the Dog Chapel, both in Vermont, as well as the ruins of the Stone Iron Forge in New Hampshire.
I also added some new pictures to the Flume.
