12/26

New stuff as well as some long overdue updates, from both NJ and PA.
Back in early November, I did some exploring around my new house and found both the Lehigh Tannery ruins and Boulder Field.
In between signings and holidays, I got new pictures of Amatol and the Rt. 539 Rock. I also found the ghost town of Fries Mill.

I was invited to Sweetwater Casino on March 9 for their annual "Lines on the Pines" event. As per the forum at NJPinebarrens.com:

Lines on the Pines - "The ABC's of the Pine Barrens"

Artists will display and offer some crafts for sale from 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm
The Book Signing with authors of the Pine Barrens is from 2:30pm - 4:30pm

This event is open to the public and FREE.

My New England '07 trip writeup is now on the Site Trips page.

I'm going to be having a signing in Deptford in January. Where and when, I don't know yet. I'll post it on the chart when I find out.

Got a few places to post, probably sometime later in the month. My birthday's in a few days and I don't feel like editing pics and typing just yet.
So there.
And fret not, South Jerseyans, I returned to the motherland this time.

11/17

Been putting this off for a while. Big update o' DOOM.

Firstly, 7, yes, count 'em, 7 new places from PA and my New England trip last month:

Rocky Glen Park, PA - remnants of an abandoned amusement park
Grave with a window in it in Vermont
Monument for Lake Champlain's monster, Champ
Shelburne Museum, VT
Dinosaur Footprints in MA
Small, difficult to reach cemetery in western MA
Dana, a ghost town along the Quabbin Reservoir

Added new pages, one being a list of my works, contributions to other works, and appearances. The other is somewhat of a disclaimer for the CafePress Shop and Amazon book links.

If you like the site, please consider the 2008 Wanderer calendar I've put together. I made a calendar last year, and it surprisingly sold a decent amount. I'd like this to follow suit.
As for the above Amazon ad, I make a small referral for each book someone purchases. So if you haven't bought my book yet and want to, please consider using my referral ad. Thanks.

2 new places from my trip up to PA last week:

Concrete City
Shupp Cemetery

If you haven't noticed, you can now buy my book (and other site-related ones) directly through the site using one of the Amazon thingies up there. All listed books are ones I personally recommend, meaning I own and/or have read them. I didn't just throw a bunch of books together.

Don't forget to check out The 2008 Wanderer Calendar.

3 new places:

Millville bunkers
Smallest registered cemetery in NJ
Hindenburg Monument

Also, the site's 2008 calendar is now available at my CafePress shop. Yes, I still have that thing. A few new items have been added since last year as well.

It was confirmed today that I will have a spot at the Collingswood Book Festival on Saturday, October 6. I'm not sure on a time or just where I'll be yet; I will find that out soon.

Also, if you haven't read, we have a new forum. All accounts and posts were carried over. Today we added a gallery and a new arcade to it. Yes, at long last, a gallery.

New place coming soon too.

With the help of a member of our forum, Exodus, we were able to work out some of the kinks we've been having with the site. For instance, the drop down menus at the top should now work for IE6 as well. Also the problem with older browsers where the middle section of the page was being pushed down below the sidebar should be resolved. If anyone else is having any problems, please, please let us know. Stu and I want the website to work well for everybody.

We've also switched the forum to a slightly easier to use interface. The old forum was a little complicated...even I couldn't figure it out. Everyone should still have their usernames, passwords and posts. You may have to reupload your avatars though.

We've been having a lot of complaints about the navigation menu all the way at the top not working correctly. Apparently it doesn't work in any Internet Explorer versions before IE7. It's supposed to work, but somehow it isn't. I'm stumped. If anyone who is more CSS savvy than I am and wants to take a look at the code, by all means, do so. Let me know what you find. For the time being I've added a simple HTML dropdown menu to the sidebar. Also I've noticed in older browsers that the content side of the site gets pushed underneath the sidebar. I haven't been able to figure out that part, either. My only suggestion is that you upgrade your Internet Explorer to the latest version, or better yet, download Firefox. It's much safer and more stable. Make the switch!

Two new places, Belle Mead General Depot and War of the Worlds Monument.

Also, the first confirmed signings have been posted above. Hopefully this list will grow.
I don't know the situation in other areas, but the stores near me have sold out, in some cases twice.
If your local store doesn't carry it yet, ask them to order some.
If you'd like me to do a signing at your store or in your area, please contact me or my publisher, as well as the store in question.

New place is up - Futuro House in Greenwich

Also, buy my book. It's in stores so now you have no excuse not to.
